New Fibreglass Signage for Tatton Park

Signage Challenge and GRP Solution

Tatton Park, Manchester, an historic estate beloved by visitors for its beautiful gardens, fascinating mansion, and rich history, faced a unique challenge. The need for new and replacement GRP (Glass glass-reinforced plastic) signage to guide and inform visitors was pressing. Harviglass Fibre, renowned for our expertise in fibreglass solutions, was approached to tackle this significant project.

GRP Sign Blanks – Customised by Tatton Park

Unlike typical requests, this task involved a bulk order of over 30 signs – a scale not commonly encountered. The park provided detailed requirements regarding the number of signs, the size of the text, and the specific wording to be used. Harviglass Fibre rose to the occasion, selecting the perfect signs from our extensive GRP signs range. A crucial part of this process was colour-matching the gel coat to ensure consistency with the existing signage within the park, preserving aesthetic continuity.

Collaboration with local sign writers was vital. They were engaged to produce and apply the vinyl lettering and images, a testament to the importance of community and local business support. Upon completion and approval by the park’s management, the durable and visually appealing fibreglass signage was installed by the park’s maintenance team.

Advantages of GRP Signs

Durability and Longevity

GRP stands out for its exceptional durability. These signs are not only tough and able to withstand harsh weather conditions but are also UV stable, ensuring that their vibrant colours and clear text remain intact over time. This makes GRP signage a cost-effective choice for areas exposed to the elements, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Glass Fibre Signs = Vandal Resistance

Vandalism is a concern for public spaces, making the vandal-resistant nature of GRP signage particularly beneficial. Its robust construction discourages damage and graffiti, maintaining the integrity and appearance of signs in public areas.  In addition, they are easy to clean and wipe down, making removing moss, lichen and bird mess a simple task.

Versatility and Customisation

Harviglass Fibre offers a standard range of sign blanks that can be supplied in any colour, allowing for a high degree of customisation. This versatility means that Glass fibre signs can be tailored to meet the specific needs and branding requirements of any project, ensuring consistency and visual appeal.

GRP provides Eco-friendly Options

GRP is known for its environmental benefits. Being a long-lasting material, it reduces the need for frequent replacements and contributes to less waste. Additionally, GRP sign blanks can be designed to be recyclable, aligning with sustainable practices and eco-conscious choices.
